The Martin Luther King Human Rights commission has invited US Attorney General Eric Holder to be the keynote speaker at the 2012 Drum Major Awards.
This invitation is controversial because of the ongoing scandals surrounding AG Holder and his Department of Justice cover-up of government involvement in the murder of Special Agent Brian Terry and earlier his involvement in the cover-up of the murder of inmate Kenneth Michael Trentadue.
With all due respect to the memory of the honorable Reverend Dr. King and the well meaning members of the commission on this day of celebration, it is a mistake to keynote an Attorney General who is under the cloud of condemnation by so many members of congress.
“52 U.S. Representatives, two U.S. Senators, and multiple GOP Presidential candidates had called on Attorney General Eric Holder to resign as a result of the scandalous “Fast and Furious” operation. As of this week, at least 90 congressmen have either signed Rep. Paul Gosar’s (R-Ariz.) “no confidence” (in Holder) resolution or believe he should quit.”[i]
With apologies for bringing controversy to the Drum Major Awards Banquet, we plead with you to be willing to look honestly at the evidence being presented, and help raise a voice of concern against injustice in the cover-up of these two murder cases and ongoing murders in Mexico with guns provided through Operation Fast and Furious.[ii]
The Department of Justice headed by AG Holder has stonewalled, presented false testimony, withheld evidence and has desperately tried to disavow knowledge of Operation Fast and Furious run by the ATF and aided and funded in part by the FBI using FBI & DEA informants which ultimately has resulted in the murder of Special Agent Brian Terry and over 300 Mexican nationals at the hands of cartels.[iii]
The claim that an Inspector General investigation would right the wrongs is becoming a travesty of justice because of severe delay (still unreleased a year later, longer than the Warren Commission report on the assassination of JFK) and because AG Holder limited the scope of the investigation to only administrative wrongdoing.[iv]

In the case of Kenneth Michael Trentadue it appears that a case of mistaken identity led the FBI to believe he was ‘John Doe #2’ from the Oklahoma City bombing attack on the Murrah building. Trentadue was tortured and murdered and labeled a suicide but the coroner would not go along with the findings and the family has won judgments against the federal government for their handling of the case.[v]
“Mr. Holder’s job was to cover-up my brother’s murder, basically to stop all inquiry,” said Trentadue, saying the e mails were “inflammatory,” referring as they do to “Trentadue’s and Trentadon’ts”.[vi]
